<description>..... I'll always come to the same conclussions and (based on those
conclussions) I'll always respond as I've aways responded. If I want to
get different responses then I have to think different thoughts.
 Hi all,
I've been thinking about Indi's 'Doing things differently' post. The
consequence of doing things differently is that we'll get different
results. What about thinking differently? Indi, you sure seem to be doing a
lot of 'different' thinking. If I were to venture a guess, it would be
that your 'different thinking' has a lot to do with re-examining old
 established thoughts/beliefs.
Regarding entries on our lists, aren't reasons to quit actually
thoughts/beliefs? What about things we've said to ourselves i.e. "I really
need a cig to calm me down." Aren't those beliefs based on past experience?
I think it would be worthwhile looking at entries on our lists and see how
they measure up in terms of our current desires to succeed in the quit and
 &lt;!--more--&gt;
our expectations of different thinking patterns (ABCs).

Whole lot of thinking going on there. What are those thoughts?
What is the jist of them? Are they old patterns or new? The getting up,
showering, and getting dressed routines are perfect subject matter for
ABCs. Are you preparing any ahead of time or creating them in the moment?
Just as thinking or saying something and also writing it down will help to
better imprint it on our minds, so does the preparation of an ABC imprint a
rational pattern of thoughts that'll kick in sooner and more smoothly when
 their associated event happens.

<description>Hi Indi - your post is great. You sound so enthusiastic and positive
about where you're at, and seeing results. 'Working the quit' pays
such dividends :))
I'll try and get to Spinchat later, but I've got to work late tonight
on our helpline (the penalty for having had a lie-in this morning).
If it's quiet I'll see if I can sneak behind the Company's firewall
and at least say hiya to you all ...
Hope everyone's had a good day today
take care

		<description>Hi Steve
Thanks for the enlightenment about the lists - they were difficult to do but
they certainly made me think a lot so guess its a good idea.
Tried to get into spinchat last night but aol was being difficult again and
it took me so long to get online then I'd only be on a few secs and off it
would go again that I just typed a couple of emails and went to bed.
See you later - hope you had a good night.

		<description>Hiya Cat
Just read my own email and I must really have had mush brain as well as being
very tired last night when I wrote it - soooooo many spelling mistakes and
 sooooo much bad grammar!!!
Never mind it made you laugh - and I am a little English lady all 5 2 of me
but don't have a cockney accent (fortunately).
Woke up this morning feeling much better although did have some really
strange dreams all to do with smoking - not me actually smoking but more to
do with cost of smoking and research articles (strange).
Football was on TV last night (socker for you Cat) so I sat up in my office
 getting on with my lists!
It was really difiicult to do - has anyone else found doing these lists
 difficult?
Catch you all later as this is just a quick visit to check my email before I
get ready for work - its what I do with a cup of coffee these days instead of
 &lt;!--more--&gt;
having my coffee and cig then checking my mail - I have my coffee while I
 check the mail.
Have a good smoke free day everyone.
 Namaste
