sharing and saying Thank-you
Hi all,
I don’t post much - do log on and get your stories and tips. Thank
you to Steve for making this available and for corresponding with me
a couple of weeks ago when I was scared - I got through it, learned
alot and yesterday celebrated 3 months smoke free!
Am going on a trip again this weekend but got my ABC’s and my other
tools ready! Since I have made it through a trip before it should be
easier this time. It seems like whenever I do something smokefree
that I had not done smokefree before the trigger comes up. For
example I was raking leaves this past weekend when the desire came
up. I was feeling pretty good mentally (not sad, mad, etc.) although
my back was hurting and when I thought about taking a break, a strong
crave came up. I did a quick ABC on it and kind of marveled at how
that comes up like that - seems out of the blue, but it isn’t huh!
Anyway, just wanted to share my anniversary and my gratitude with all
of you.

And while we’re on the thankyou’s - a big big thankyou to Indi for

having right now. Much appreciated.

Hi Becky aka Chennoa,
Congrats on your 3 months too!
Yes we do have the same date - my last smoke was 11:35 pm on August
19th.
I’d told my boyfriend that I wanted to quit but didn’t want to be a
*itch to him so soon into the relationship (excuses, excuses) so he
blew that one out by suggesting that we quit together and for me to
pick a day. So, I said how about my birthday (Sep 29) - this was in
early August (procrastination) - he said ‘too far away’ so I said how
about the next new moon and that was the 19th! Did ya know you quit
on a new moon? - haha. BTW he wasn’t worried about the quit (I was
big time - so many failures ya know) but he only made it about 12
hours and half of those were sleeping. He’s been pretty good though,
especially early in my quit, about keeping it away from me and I
think he is learning from my learning cuz I share it with him - hope
he tries again. Yeah, I got a couple of friends & co-workers too
that notice and congratulate me occasionally - feels so good and
you’re right - it is a BIG deal.

have the same quit date……I stopped on August 19th……….is
that your quit date too……….WOW……….I am so happy for
you!!!!!!!! Its amazing what we can do isn’t it……….I would have
never thought I could make it 24 hours and now its been three
months……..I am a walking miracle………and so are you!!!!! Good
job…….it seems that not too many people see it but I have a
girlfriend who sends me a card every once in a while just to let me
know she notices even if no one else does……this is a BIG deal to
me………
