Cognitive Quit Smoking

I just realized something when I read this post. I watched football with
friends also this weekend. Our best friends came over (a couple who smoke) and
we drank beer, ate burgers and chicken wings (of course), yelled at the TV and
had a great time. During part of our little party, we’d brought a little TV
out to the deck to watch part of one of the games while in the hot tub.
Afterwards, we sat around the table out there, ate and yelled some more (well,
my DH yelled, I am too much of a lady to do that, ahem - ok, I admit that if
the Raiders had made it, I’d have been showing my tonsils but the #$#%S bums
didn’t make it this far).
What I just realized is that I don’t even remember whether or not my friends
smoked or not. Surely they did!?! They are smokers for crying out loud. And
I didn’t even notice!!! I have done quite a few ABC’s in the past to prepare
myself to be around these two friends whom I love dearly. They’ve been rather
taken aback when I’ve explained to them that they’ve been part of my practicing
to rethink my association with smoking, but never hesitate to let me know how

they think it’s all great and they’re proud of me, yadda yadda yadda. I don’t
mean to make light of their support, believe me, especially when I see how many
people try to quit with absolutely no support in sight.
Anyway, I think this whole experience is another step in the right direction.
Damn, life is good!! (Of course, I’ll be complaining about something else later
on, but we’ll just go with this nice fuzzy for a while, OK?)
Well, if you’re like me, believe me, it won’t last long. I hate housework. My
only hope is that the Health Department doesn’t come in and shut down my house
one day.
