Boredom ABCs
Steve,
Here is the final draft of the ABCs you were helping me with yesterday.
Char
A - I am bored from sitting at my computer working on the same thing for a
long time. I start to feel “antsy”.
B1-I could go outside and smoke a cigarette.
B2-I could just go outside and take some deep breaths of fresh air.
B3-I could switch gears and work on something entirely different. If I have
been writing code, I could switch to working on one of my administrative
projects and vice versa.
B4-I could combine 2 and 3 and go outside for a few minutes and come back to
work on something different.
C- I will choose 4.

Char,
These are perfect. You’ve recognized and stated the event clearly.
You’ve offered up some relevant and appropriate responses. My only question
is, how did you feel when you put it into action? Was there a noticeable
shift from ‘urgish and frustrated’ to ‘rationally in control’?
