One of my friends couldn’t stand the smell when she was pregnant (she quit).
She and her husband had lived in their apartment for 10 years, and they both
smoked, although mostly outside. She rented one of those carpet shampooers
availalbe at a grocery store and shampooed her carpets a couple of times. You
could try Febreze on the curtains, or one of those home-drycleaning kits.
