Digest Number 410

HI. Don’t know if anyone remembers me, since this is the first digest I’ve
received since my first post over a week ago. Maybe this group is slowing
down?? A short review :
I’m 40, married 20 years, 2 kids, 19 and 17. Been smoking for 25 years
(GROSS) I’m adopted. My birthfather was diagnosed with COPD (emphysema) at
40, quit at 43, and recently got a lung transplant. I don’t want to follow
in his footsteps. I’ve tried the patch twice, nicotine gum twice, had 2
boxes of inhaler, but never tried, tried zyban for too short a time, and went
to a quit smoking class for a month. Nothing has worked. My doctor wants me
to try the zyban again. Anyone try zyban and the patch/gum? I really have
to stop smoking. Time may be running out. I’m starting to feel its
hopeless.
Sheila
