A Birthday Wish
20 minutes ago my Mom turned 70, I put out my last cigarrette,
brushed my teeth to stomp away the taste in my mouth one last time.
This will be the umteenth time I have said “I WILL quit1″. I have
read the ABC’s and done my homework. I am a widget weigher. I
vaguley understand the colors and sizes, but I left the assembly line
before I really got it down. This is a wish I know my mother has as
she rests in bed with her oxygen on, that her daugher put down that
nasty little stick, and begin the real road of life.
My wish to my mother, is that her wish comes true.
I have my ABC’s This time maybe I can win!
Thank you all for the notes. I know I will be visiting here more
frequently begin now. Here’s to the candles that can be blown out!
