ABC for having visitors

Hi group
tomorrow I am getting visitors. Normally I would be enjoying cooking and doing
everything and once in a while I would sneak out at the balcony and have my
smoke and get some energy. Now I don’t smoke anymore but I sure still need an
extra break and time to sort my thought and to top up my energy level. So I made
an ABC which I will place in the washroom.
A - My husbands family is coming over ( we are all together 11) my apartment
is small so it will be very noisy and lots of stress.
B - I need some time to relax, I know a smoke will help and get me relaxed and
calmed down.
C - I go to the Balcony and lit up and smoke
B1 - nope a smoke would not help anymore as I just hate the taste of it and
secondly my family knows I quit so if I go out and smoke I will see long faces
and have to answer lot’s of questions that is not going to help me dealing with
the situation

C1 - go in the bathroom and put cold water in my face, take some deep breath
and stretches and just try to relax for some view minutes
- if my hubby goes at the balcony for his smoke ( he smokes ciggars, no danger
for me) I can go out too and enjoy the cold air and enoy the nice look of the
snow and actually can smell the winter.
so the work is done and a new tool is created all there is left have some fun at
the family gathering and in though minutes follow the ABC.

    Carmen,
    that’s a good ABC. I’d change it just a bit though.
    B1 contains ALL our ideas about the event A. C1 contains ONLY the
    option you decide to use. B1 may contain many ideas for dealing with
    the situation, but you may decide to use only a coulpe, they are what
    go in C1.

    - I can take breaks to rest for a moment and collect my thoughts,
    to think about how I’m controlling this situation.
    I can drink my juice for energy. I can stick my head out the door
    and get some deep breathes of that horrid freezing arctic air … (
    oops sorry, that’s my ABC ;) got carried away) deep dreathes of
    the nice cold winter air.
    C1- will contain 2 or 3 options that you think will be most
    effective. You might use all of them, but you usually won’t need them all.
