Hello everyone, I am new here and am trying to find my way. I am
working on the foundation statements and lists. I think I’ve tried
every other way to quit, now it’s time to reprogram my behavior. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ~S.L.

Hi Sandy,
Welcome to the group. If you’re working on your lists, you’re
certainly no the way to reprograming your behavior. I’m reposting
some lists that Lauren put together in prep for her quit. Maybe
they’ll help point the way.

List 1: Reasons to Smoke
when I get up
with coffee
before and after meals
while driving
with beer
with friends
at parties and bars
while on the phone
before and after a task or project, ie cutting the lawn or cleaning
after and during a hot bath
using the bathroom
before bed
on break at work
before doing anything with non-smoking friends
when hungry, stressed,angry,bored or sad
while doing my makeup or hair
while waiting for guests
while cooking
List 2: Emotions and Conditions
angry, sad, worried, tired, depressed, upset, nervous, happy, bored,
cold, full, hungry, love, needy, scared, lonely, excited, content,
lazy, anxious, hot.
List 3: Physical Sensations - Where and How
tense stomach, neck, back, shoulders, and neck
elevated heart rate
rapid breathing
queezy stomach
sore eyes
soreness in legs and knees
tense jaw muscles
aching joints
growling stomach
headache
itchy skin
deep breathing
all over stiffness
