Reply and Update

Thanks for the hugs; I needed them.
Mina:
Way to go on the quit! It’s got to be a huge relief just not being
sneaky anymore. Keep going to the gym. I’m using it, and it really
helps. It helps one realize how much they’ve destructed their
precious body already, and also releases those feel-good
endorphins. Being from the states, it’s really hard to imagine
your country’s social culture regarding smoking. Here, I was a
total leper just for going outside for a smoke. Smokers are very
much disapproved of here. This obviously is an aid for me, but it
can also be for you. There were people here who were once in your
shoes. They were the pioneers for cleaning our culture, and now you
have that opportunity to educate and change. You know the truths;

stick to them.
Caromoon:
Welcome! You’re right, there are great tools here. They will make
you able to do the job, but they won’t do the work for you. I too
had a multi-year quit destroyed with the help of fun and friends;
some fun, and some friend, huh?
On ddSteve’s suggestion about the morning note to yourself:
Excellent! I use this in other parts of my life as well. If you
have great thoughts, write them to yourself. I’m always amazed how
much differently I can be thinking/feeling at different times.
Tony:
You and I can be the school of hard knocks brothers. Let’s hang in
there though. Good women/people are hard to come by. In the
meantime, use your extra time to work on yourself. God knows you
won’t have any extra time after you do meet the right one. :-) 6 days, 5 hours, 22 minutes and 3 seconds cognitively quit,

    I have been reading this site and now I have to go buy a timer. Several times
    today I have stopped and thought about how I felt. Once I was very tense
    (shoulders, neck) and felt bored. The other time I felt pretty good -
    optimistic, relaxed. Tonite I will get a timer and start doing this on a
    regular basis and write it down.
    “Doing the work” to quit using this method is much better and more interesting
    than some of the other quit methods. We will learn about ourselves and that is
    never a bad thing.
