Hi Pam and Steve.
It’s taken me months and months to get 17 hours past day three of
another quit. I had a hard time with the timer exercise in the past
because I was smoking while doing the exercise. I really couldn’t
identify my feelings and felt the oddball because I always felt the
cool, calm and collected smoker every hour.
Now that day three is almost over, with no cigs, I am ready to set
the timer again. I really came on site to check the abc folder. You
see tomorrow morning I leave on a 6 hour car trip to Metroplois.
Appears Buddy wants us to visit Superman this holiday weekend. I
swore by my abcs in the past and I need a crash course tonight.
Coming back today and reading all the timer posts has me thinking I
can make the car ride a learning experience instead of a nightmare.
I’m really glad I peeked in today.
I’ll be back Tuesday to inform you of my progress on that God-
forsaken timer exercise. You see my best male friend in the world
had large tumors of his tongue, jaw, throat, plus the whole floor of
his mouth removed Tuesday (hmmm…my quit day) as the result of
cancer. We’re doing this together.
Take good care.
Linda J. (I see another Linda here…Hi Linda!)

Pam, I don’t even remember what my # is on ICQ but I miss the pretty
green daisy! I will get on Monday, after I get home, and figure it
out. I’m trying to find the timer exercise information. I must have
blocked that out too! I can do this!!

Found the getting started folder and the timer exercise folder and
printed it all up. I’m going to be really busy reading this on my
trip. Also found abcs for car rides, well driving…I can ad lib.
It’s really good to be back. Thanks.

Okay, I printed that up too. I have myself a novel here. It made me
think of my old abc notebook. Maybe I better look for that too.
Really Pam, I’m going to do my hardest on this timer quest. It is
VERY hard for me. Then again, what else do I have to do all that
time in the car. Could be a start, eh?
Have a great weekend.
