just keeping in touch.

Hi there,
I am very busy at the moment, due to the run up to Christmas.
Anyway, happy to report that I have been smoke free for 11 days.
Yesterday, was a day where I snarled a lot, due to different
pressures, but to be honest, I only thought of cigarettes a couple
of times and found I could say to myself, would a cigarette make any
difference to what is going on,and how I feel, and I could honestly
say no, it wouldn’t, so dismissed the thought straight away.
Tomorrow night may be a bit more difficult as it is our works night
out, but I am going to be prepared. I will go for the meal,
then come home. I do not intend to go to the local pubs for a drink.
Some of my colleagues would be delighted to give me a cigarette if I
asked for one.
Still reading, and doing my timer exercises, most of the time when
I had my cigarette, all I needed was a break, to allow me to gather

my thoughts together.

    Hello there
I am really just posting to say that it is over 9 weeks ago since I
quit, and feeling great about it.
I have tried lots of times in the past, but never managed to remain
stopped. I always felt before, that I was giving something up,
this time, with the cogquit, I feel that I am gaining something,
    i.e. Control over my life.
Its with thanks to Steve, for making sense of it all, the timer
exercise, my ABC’s……. If you do the work, it is simple and
    relatively easy.
I was using the patches at the beginning, but I haven’t had any for
a good few weeks now. This quit feels very different, and I
don’t “count” my days without nicotine, I see myself as a non
    smoker.
Having said all the above, I still “lurk” every day, simply

because I don’t want to become complacent.
Good luck to all new quitters, do the work and it will all fall in
    to place.
    Linda
