Hi Lori - welcome to the group. Are you using the cognitive
quitting program in your quit? To read more about it, see
the 'Getting Started' page at Steve's site
www.cognitvequitting.com. By learning how to identify and address
the physical sensations which were always the cues to smoke, you'll
find quitting becomes a lot more comfortable. Ask any questions and
we'll help as much as we can.

I set a quit date with smokes still available and when it came time to quit
I found more packs I had tucked away so I almost gave up after I smoked them
and missed my quit date but I decided that it was a slip the 3 extra packs I
had found and kept my original quit date. I'm so glad I didn't give in as I
really wanted to but as of today I'm 75 days quit at first I used the nr
patches and they helped a lot but I've been off of them 2 weeks now and am so
glad I keep reminding myself that after this time I am no longer physically
addicted and the rest of this craving is simply choice I know how harsh that
sounds but it works for me In the meantime I've taken up several things I suck
hard candy and when I'm alone and bored I read and that is something I had
given up long ago In the past I read but it was skimming and unsatisfying I
cant
really explain the difference but now if I know I'm going to have time on my
hands I make sure I have a good book to fill the time and stop the boredom

Wishing you the best. The first step is to say, " Hmmm, I think I
shoul quit." I'm on day 6. 2 cartons for me would be about a week
and a half... I'll look for your postings. Chsojo
