2 Year Anniversary!!!!
Today, 2 years ago, I made the best decision of my life - to quit
smoking….Had it not been for this remarkable program and the
expertise of Steve and Pam, I would probably not have made it. This
program taught me how to identify what it is that my body really
needed - all the years I kept sticking a cig into my mouth and sucking
in, over and over and over and over - for 30+ years and all the time
ignoring what I really needed. I cannot express enought, my gratitude
and appreciation to both Steve and Pam for all their help and endless
support….This is a wonderful place and even though I don’t post
much, I try to read as much as I can. To anyone out there who thinks
that they cannot do this - that it is for everyone else but them, and
they are never going to succeed - you are SO WRONG - YOU CAN and WILL
succeed if you work the program. I wish all of you the very best in
your endeavors, and remember, you CAN do this - If I can - so can
YOU!!!! Fondly, Lauren

Congrats Lauren and Donna, from another of that little group… I too have
reached my 2 years comfortably quit this week…
Didn’t post much in the early days…. but it was your posts that encouraged
me to keep at it…. and as we have all discovered, it works…
To all the newbies… this is a really different way of becoming a
non-smoker…. have you ever come across a group where a small group of 3
who started together are still comfortabley quit after 2 years…. and I
don’t think any of us really believed it was possible at the start…
I was also one of those who said…. “I know I should stop, but I don’t
really want to”… and yet here I am… it can be done, and truly this was
the easiest method I have tried….
You will also hear people say….”if you do the work”, and somehow that
makes it seem hard… but what they really mean is that you must actually do
the simple exercises that are suggested here…. actually write out the
Foundation statements, actually set up your timer and learn to listen to
what your body is feeling, and then use this knowledge to actually write out
ABCs a little later to help you pre-plan your non-smoking response to known
triggers. These really are not hard things to do….they are a lot easier to
do than trying to “hang tough” and wait for it to get easier.
Do the work….. you will never regret it…

Wow! Pam Congratulations!
I’d forgotten that you and Donna and Lauren had quit during the same
period. Donna, my apologies for missing your 2 yr post and my heartiest
congratulations, you’ve done well. Two years is an amazing accomplishment
in a world where most quitters have a less than 10% chance of staying quit
to one year. Thank you, the three of you, for trusting in this different
approach to smoking and quitting. And thank you for encouraging our new
quitters.
Steve
