Whew, what a day today was. I remembered to do the deep breathing
exercises I used a straw a pulmonologist suggested deep breaths thru a
straw something about increasing the elasticity in my lungs. Boy was
it a hard day, I really went thru the wringer so to speak today….. I
have quit before and do not remember some of the withdrawal I am
experiencing this time. Sweats, big time, shakes and even headaches
and don’t know which is the worst. I didn’t use the nicotine sucker
that much, I worry I will get addicted to that tooo. But, it is better
than smoke. Went to the smoking cessation classes tonight and was told
everything was pretty normal and too expect it to continue. She did
recommend possibly a drug called Chantix??? Said that it had proven
itself 30% effective to help take away cravings. I don’t know about
that, seems like it might also be something that I would have to get
off also. It has been a tough day and a long one starting at 6:00am
and didn;t get in till after 8:00 I think I will enjoy having tomorrow
to rest up a bit. But I have decided I reaLLY DPM’T WANT TO QUIT
SMOKING, BUT THEN I HAVE HAD TO DO MANY THINGS IN MY LIFE THAT I
HAVN’T WANTED TO ,THIS IS JUST ANOTHER ONE OF THEM WITH BETTER
CONSEQUENCES FOR ME!!! SO I KNOW I CAN…..GOING TO GO GET A SHOWER
AND ON TO BED FOR ME HOMPE TO GET MORE SLEEP TONITE THAN LAST NIGHT.
THANKS GUYS SEND UP SOME PRAYERS- SUSAN

Hi Susan,
The first 3-4 days are usually the roughest. Looks like you’re staying on
top of it though. Keep deep breathing and stretching frequently. Are you
using a timer at all? Are you making any hourly notes?
