going to try - new member

I am going to try again. When, I dont know.
I started a plan a month ago and tried to prepare myself for 3 weeks.
3 weeks was too long. After the 1st week and a half i was back to my
old habits. And I thought I was so strong!
I have tried Wellbutrin, I am allergic to it. I break out so bad. But
it helps, the taste of cigs are so nasty.
Then I asked the dr for a nicotrol inhaler. Come to find out it
scosts $170 which is unreasonable for me. yes I know, Id rather buy
$170 worht of cigs. But if it was guarenteed to work id buy the inhaler.
So I found this sit for something called E-Z Quit, and the
ArtificialCigarette. Has any one here tried and succeded on these? I
dont mind spending $15 for this. But I want tos ee if there is a
recommended product over another. One geared toward not smoking and
actually helping.
Any help or ideas is appreciate.

I just have a problem- smoking- and having to have something in my hand.
grrrrr - one day ill quit

    Hi Mia,
This may sound strange since this is a quit smoking group and you’re here
looking for help to quit… but forget about quitting for a little while.
Before you try to quit again, whenever that is … and before you spend
another desperate dime on yet another E-Z gimmick, here’s a question or two
that may help you start doing it all differently.
Smoking obviously provides something now, even if it’s only temporary
relief from a lowered nicotine level. Can you identify some of the things
you use smoking for? This is useful to know because when you quit you need
to find other ways to deal with those things.
It’s clear you don’t want to be a smoker. But you’re expecting something to
happen when you quit and that’s why you’re casting about for some sort of
quit aid. What exactly do you expect to happen to you when you quit? What
has your experience been in the past?
That’s a starting point for one of your problems, the smoking one.

As for the other problem of having to have something in your hand… have
    you considered a tooth brush?
Hope to hear from you soon,
    And welcome to the group,
    Steve
