Hi Mia,
This may sound strange since this is a quit smoking group and you're here
looking for help to quit... but forget about quitting for a little while.
Before you try to quit again, whenever that is ... and before you spend
another desperate dime on yet another E-Z gimmick, here's a question or two
that may help you start doing it all differently.
Smoking obviously provides something now, even if it's only temporary
relief from a lowered nicotine level. Can you identify some of the things
you use smoking for? This is useful to know because when you quit you need
to find other ways to deal with those things.
It's clear you don't want to be a smoker. But you're expecting something to
happen when you quit and that's why you're casting about for some sort of
quit aid. What exactly do you expect to happen to you when you quit? What
has your experience been in the past?
That's a starting point for one of your problems, the smoking one.
<!--more-->
As for the other problem of having to have something in your hand... have
you considered a tooth brush?
Hope to hear from you soon,
And welcome to the group,
Steve
