Steve,
I guess I had my first real withdrawals today. before when I quit smoking
my blood pressure went up. I battled it for a while and went back to smoking.
Blood pressure returned to normal. This time I checked pressure a few days into
being smoke free to find it was good. Tonight I got lightheaded and felt a
little dizzy. Pressure was up a little. Now I have my 10 days in so how many
days is it until the body adjust to being free from smoke

Irma,
There’s no way I can tell you how long it’ll take your body to
adjust. I rather doubt that anyone could, including your doctor.
Everyone is different and even though there are general guide lines,
none of them are written in stone.
Speaking of doctors, are you in touch with yours? If you have blood
pressure issues, please see your doctor.
Have you quit cold turkey? or are you using NRT? How often during
the day are you taking a moment to deep breathe and release muscle
tension? Are you staying hydrated? Have you set a timer and made any
timer notes?

Yes I am under Doctors care.Take meds for blood pressure. My Dr. has wanted me
to stop smoking for a long time now. I ask about some of the patches but she
said I could get them over the counter. So I quit cold turkey and decided I
would stay with it this time.I am breathing much better and not getting up with
such a dry mouth and throat. Last night was the only time I had gotten the light
headed spells.
I tried the timer for a while started a list, but got so busy I neglected to
keep it up. I do remember to do the breathing and stretch exercises,. I think I
may have fallen short on the drinking water, will try to get that back up to
speed today.
Thanks Steve. I am going to try very hard to work through this without patches
or any of the other aids. Somehow I feel I would just be trading my addiction
for something else.
